The Gymnastics Australia Events Team is looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join the team for the 2017 Australian Gymnastics Championships!

If you’re currently studying or have just graduated from a degree in the fields of sports management, event management, marketing, communications or public relations, then this is the perfect opportunity to kick-start your career in the Australian sporting sector.

The Australian Gymnastics Championships is Gymnastics Australia’s premier national event, where the best Australian gymnasts will vie for the title of Australian Champions across five Gymsports; Men’s Artistic, Women’s Artistic, Rhythmic, Trampoline and Acrobatic Gymnastics.

Volunteer at the 2017 Australian Gymnastics Championships

To deliver the 2017 Australian Gymnastics Championships, we’re assembling a team of over 150 incredible volunteers!

Gain a new perspective on the Australian Gymnastics Championships, working behind the scenes to make the event happen. Gymnastics Australia is looking to recruit a volunteer workforce to help deliver the 2017 Australian Gymnastics Championships.

Five Gymsports will be showcased at Hisense Arena (20 May – 2 June), which will be transformed into something truly amazing.

We are looking for cheerful and hardworking individuals with a passion for volunteering, community events or gymnastics, and we want to hear from you!

The Australian Championships Volunteer Program

The Australian Championships Volunteer Program aims to recruit a team of dynamic volunteers to assist in the planning and delivery of the event. There are a wide range of roles available in a number of different areas. Where possible, you will be allocated your preferred role.

Department Role
Media General media, social media, marketing
Workforce Volunteer coordination, rostering, administration, ushering
IT & results Scoring, results collation and distribution, IT support, AV operators
Sport Floor marshalling, Gym supervising, sports medicine
Event Experience Medal bearing, ceremony assistant, spectator activities coordinating
Equipment & logistics Equipment management, signage coordination

Volunteers will be assigned to a specific department but may undertake numerous roles within their championship area, subject to their skills, affinity and availability.

March 2017 Final confirmation on role and responsibilities. Commencement of basic training.
May 2017 Final rosters delivered and role specific training
